It exists because some clients start on a retainer to move fast and de-risk the build, then reach a point where they've hired the internal team to run it themselves and no longer need us as the operator — that's a legitimate outcome of a retainer working, not a failure of it. The transfer includes full source code, documentation, and infrastructure configuration, plus a defined knowledge-transfer period so your team can actually operate what they're inheriting rather than receive a code dump and a wave goodbye. It's priced at a premium precisely because we're handing over an asset, not simply ending a service.
